You may designate that your donation be used exclusively for research purposes. This guarantees that none of your contribution will be used for administrative or fundraising expenses.

 2.) Bequests

The Walker Cancer Research Institute, Inc. has received several bequests, adding greatly to our ability to carry out our mission. All (100%) of the monies from these bequests have been used exclusively for research purposes.

You can help us fight cancer by including a bequest to our organization in your Will. If you already have a Will, it is generally possible to add a bequest without preparing a new Will. Through a short separate document (known as a codicil), you can include WCRI as your beneficiary, or you may simply add this language to your will:

"I bequeath to Walker Cancer Research Institute, Inc., a not-for-profit organization, the sum of

$ _____________ to be used exclusively for research in the prevention and treatment of can

cer. This entire bequest shall be used for research, and shall not be used for administrative or fundraising expenses."

4.) Current Wish List

To carry out our in-house research programs, we need new specialized equipment, including:

  • Mass Spectrograph costing about $100.000.00 for the Detroit laboratory;
     

  • Additional HPLC (high pressure liquid chromatograph) machine for the natural products laboratory in Florida;
     

  • NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) spectrometer;
     

  • Additional laboratory space and incidental laboratory equipment.
